Things you should know...

  • On Wednesday 1 August, the Road Cycling Time Trials are taking place on roads in Surrey. They will begin and end at Hampton Court Palace in south-west London, and will incorporate sections of Richmond, Kingston-upon-Thames and the Elmbridge area of Surrey.
  • Roads will also be very busy on Tuesday 31 July as the route for the event is tested.  This will be managed by the police as a rolling road closure and, although there will be some disruption, this will only affect areas very close to the race route and only for a short period of time (less than 30 minutes).
  • For the safety of athletes and spectators, there will be road restrictions and closures in the area hours before events begin until a few hours after events finish. This may also affect access to rail, bus stops and routes in the area.
  • If you are travelling into London, make sure you check our London travel information.
  • We want to give you as much information as possible, as early as possible. However, not all the finer details about road events are available yet, such as information about road closures or restrictions to parking and road access. This is because some of the plans for the Games are still being finalised. The map on this page will be updated as soon as we have more detailed information available.
